The police have confirmed an end to the siege by law enforcement agents on a bank branch in Abuja following a robbery incident. Armed men attacked the bank in Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Saturday, December 27, 2019
The robbers on arrival were seen shooting sporadically, managed to gain access into the bank. Their luck ran out when they were blocked from leaving the bank with their loot by a combined force of policemen and soldiers –
However, one of the robbers, who stepped outside, was sent back in with a hail of bullets and has been confirmed killed by police at the spot. The joint force by the security agents has successfully arrested four members of an armed robbery gang that stormed a bank in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Normalcy has since returned to the area as confirmed by the spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Mariam Yusuf, confirmed that normalcy has been restored in the area just hours after the five-man gang stormed the area.
Newsmen gathered from the police that one of those arrested is a staff of the bank who was the inside man for the robbers. It was gathered that the daredevils were surrounded by the combined force of policemen and soldiers of the Nigerian Army.
Kudos to the Nigerian security force men, who according to reports by eyewitness exhibit gallantry and stood their ground. The robbers who arrived shooting sporadically into the air in a bid to scare people ended up attracting the attention of security men.
Policemen and soldiers were seen arriving on the scene just shortly after the thieves gained entrance into the bank. The security officials positioned themselves close to the entrance of the bank effectively preventing the robbers from leaving with their loot.
